Over the week I have come up with a lot of different ideas for my dataviz pitch. The first thing I should mention is that I’m changing the site a bit and making it about Stony Brook Sports in general and not just the Men’s Basketball team. I am going to have up other pages containing other sports so there is a lot of room for data driven charts and such. These two Idea I could use for any of the sports teams I plan on covering.
1st – I wanted to make a bar graph chart for the men’s basketball team breaking down each game of the 2015-2016 season. That shows shots attempted and shots actually made across all their games. Green bars would be for made shots and red would be attempts or failed attempts. It would be nice to show how many shots the team takes vs how many they actually get it.
2nd – I wanted to put up a line graph of the men’s 2015-2016 basketball season plotting points as to how many points they scored each game and connecting them. So the reader can visually see how many points they have scored compared to other games in the season. I could also plot the 2014-2015 season on this chart to see how they ranked up last year.
