Note: I’m probably going to cover the men’s basketball team and write a story about them. I want to tie in past games as well as statistics and team diagnostics.

This theme would work for my project because it can either be very simple of very complex. The way it’s designed I can have a chart to show all the games the Stony Brook Men’s basketball team played, as well as have a tab with little blurbs about each player, on top of the story about the team. The theme also allows for a lot of photos as well as to make many charts and graphs. Plus it’s simple, so users can easily navigate through the theme.

Divi: http://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/divi/

This theme would work well with my project because it boats a lot of important features. It allows for the creation of portfolios, as well as full-page image sliders. This theme also allows for the attachment of a blog, which is really cool and useful for sports reporting as live game coverage could go there. Plus the theme is simple and easy to navigate through, and the theme also automatically determines what device the user is on and auto adjust the settings for perfect viewing.

This theme would be cool because its designed with photos and showing off items in mind. It would allow me to easily group photos of the basketball team, while allowing for the user to click the images for more info or even the story. Its easy to navigate and is responsive so it knows what device your on, and shows the website accordingly.

Sports Cup: http://themeforest.net/item/sports-cup-bootstrap-3-sporting-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/12999152

This theme is specifically geared to sports. On the home page it allows the steaming of photos, as well as descriptions and links. It also has a second scrolling tab that allows me to post events, so I can post the Stony Brook Men’s basketball games schedule there. It also has a countdown feature so I can place a countdown to important games or dates for the team. It also allows for a blog, and features many things other themes I’ve mentioned before like blogs, and responsiveness to what device you’re on.

Altitude: http://my.studiopress.com/themes/altitude/#

This theme is the unique one of the bunch, as the tabs don’t take you to a new page, it just scrolls you down to the right part on the page. Having it on one page allows to covering the men’s basketball team from the start of their season to the end, that way the reader can follow the coverage as it happened, instead of seeing what’s new first. The theme is also clean and easy to follow and like the others it auto adjusts itself depending on what device you’re on.
